This plastic spatula is great for mixing small amounts of alginate (up to about 2 ounces). It is the same one used by dental offices when mixing dental alginate. The wide blade makes it possible to smash the alginate mixture against the side of the bowl while mixing to minimize the lumps quickly.

It can also be used to apply alginate to the face. We don't do it that way, but some people do.

These spatulas are designed to be used with the small and medium rubber mixing bowls. They are durable and easy to clean.
